Course Description
This course is a general survey of the Bible with emphasis given to its historical, geographical, cultural, and literary aspects. Instruction is academic and objective. No attempt is made to indoctrinate students as to the truth or falsity of the biblical documents. There is no bias for or against any religious group or denomination. The instructor for this course is a certified teacher chosen without regard to his or her religious or non-religious beliefs.
The purpose of this course is to help students better understand the historical context of biblical literature, and the relationship of the Bible to the history, culture, literature, art, and social customs of the present day.
